The flag of the Lucky Man Cree Nation consists of the logo flanked by the words "Treaty Six". The logo itself comprises a medicine wheel encircling a buffalo. From the medicine wheel hangs 9 eagle feathers representing the point in the history of the Band when the membership was at its lowest. At one point, the Lucky Man Cree Nation population consisted of only 9 people, the ancestors of today's growing membership.

Welcome to Lucky Man Cree Nation Website!
This website has been created to provide up to date information and news to all registered LMCN band members. It is our intention to use this site as a communication tool for our registered membership.

In 1879, Chief Papaway (Lucky Man) signed an adhesion to Treaty 6. Explore the history or the land claim of the Lucky Man Cree Nation.

"I’d like to acknowledge that we are on Treaty 6 territory, a traditional meeting grounds, gathering place, and travelling route to the Cree, Saulteaux (So-toe), Blackfoot, Métis, Dene (De-nay) and Nakota Sioux (Sue). We acknowledge all the many First Nations, Métis, and Inuit whose footsteps have marked these lands for centuries."

Fire Fighting Training Level 1 Hosted by SIIT. LMCN is Looking for 4 Interseted Band Members to Attend. Contact SIIT or Terrance Okemow if Interested.

Hosted by Poundmaker Cree Nation (site to be confirmed soon), I’m thinking there could be an opportunity to move this training around? That would be up to the trainer. I’m thankful we have this training opportunity for our Communities with Partners with the same goal in mind.

I’m suggesting we run the firefighter training bi-weekly, starting February 18-20, and continuing every two weeks from Tuesday to Thursday. This schedule would take us through to April 15-17 for completion.

Toward the end of the program, we will coordinate with the North Battleford Fire Department to run live fire scenarios. The program will be led by the same instructor, a firefighter from the Saskatoon Fire Department, who is cc’d on this email.
In addition to the Level 1 training, I will provide First Aid certification for those who need it, as well as Fire Extinguisher certification. Optional courses in Psychological First Aid and ICS-100 will also be available.

The training will consist of approximately 45 hours of theory and 45 hours of practical sessions. Upon completion, participants will receive their Volunteer Firefighter Level 1 certificate from SIIT which we can celebrate with the community and those who are successful. We can also schedule monthly continuing training sessions to maintain and build on the skills learned.

Let me know if you need further details for leadership, and I look forward to moving ahead with this.
